Services: When you need the Collection Process
Consumer Collections With fees based on a contingency rate assessed against recovered money, our program has no upfront fees. Once an account is placed with us, a collection associate begins contacting the debtor to secure payment. An initial letter, as required by law, is sent to the debtor. If we find that the mail has been returned or the phone is disconnected, we don't just close the file - we begin looking for the debtor. Our programs include a variety of tools designed to locate, contact, report and get reimbursements. All unpaid debts are reported to the credit bureaus, and payment plan arrangements have monthly updates to the credit bureaus. A unique program is the fee-added option where collection costs are passed on to the debtor and our client receives 100% of the debt when paid. We work with clients to enable their A/R accounts to qualify for this option. Our traditional rates range from 29% to 45% with additional discounts available for volume or association membership. Factors affecting rate are the age and dollar amount of the debt. Commercial Collections Business receivables require professional handling, and our staff will represent you in the best possible manner while maximizing collection results. The longer you wait, the lower your chances are to collect past-due balances - and the more healthy profit you need to make up the loss. Rates are as low as 15%! Because we enjoy working with our clients, we will assist you in formatting your A/R so it includes personal guarantees. This ensures that even if the company with whom you are dealing goes out of business, you may not lose your money. A/R Cleanup Backlog All accounts can be reviewed for possible collections. If you have aged accounts that you have deemed as uncollectible, consider letting Williams, Alexander & Associates attempt a final aggressive program prior you writing off the debts. Because it is on a contingency basis, it doesn't cost you anything to try one last time. Litigation Litigation is an integral part of the collection process. It is a last resort, only used when all other means of recovering your money have proven unsuccessful. We pre-filter all debts to make sure that if we request litigation as an action, the debtor has some means to pay the judgment. Once you have given your approval on a particular debt, our paralegal will prepare the documents for one of our collection attorneys. Filing fees and court costs are the responsibility of the client but usually are recoverable. Credit Reporting With access to the three main credit reporting agencies and E-Oscar, we will report all unpaid debts to Experian, Equifax and Trans Union. Bad debt will be listed on their credit report for up to seven years and prevents a debtor from receiving credit for major purchases or loans until the debt is satisfied. |
